Shauna Thomas has spent the past seven years working in various aspects of television production. Her goal is to obtain an Executive Development position that takes advantage of her considerable experience where she can oversee and create hit shows for television. 
 
Shauna Thomas currently serves as a segment director, DGA, for CBS/Paramount’s Dr. Phil show, a position she has held since 2006. Shauna Thomas was promoted from segment producer to segment director within six months of being hired placing her as a member in the Directors Guild of America. Shauna Thomas’ responsibilities include writing, developing, producing and editing weekly in-depth stories under tight deadlines. She also manages a team through pre- and post-production, writes shooting scripts, interviews guests and manages field production.

Some of the highlights of Shauna Thomas’ work with the Dr. Phil show include
•    “Dr. Phil Now,” writing and producing up-to the-minute news segments;
•    Delivering a five-episode reality series for  The Dr. Phil House. From that, the series Todd & Jessica: A Family in Crisis earned an Emmy nomination for multi-camera editing.
•    Wrote and produced high-conflict and drama tape packages for shows such as The Scott Peterson Jurors: Life After the Trial, Anna Nicole Smith: The Families Grieve, and Hoarding Nightmare.

During the summer of 2007, Shauna Thomas worked for “TMZ” as a Predator. Shauna Thomas served as a freelance writer/producer/editor delivering online content for the Tele-Pictures/Fox production.
           
Shauna Thomas has also served as a field producer for The Bachelor, an ABC/Warner Horizon show. Her duties included producing highly rated segments while maintaining a tight production budget. Shauna Thomas interviewed contestants throughout casting and production while following multiple story arcs.

From 2003 to 2006, Shauna Thomas worked for Good Day Utah, a Fox O&O/KSTU morning news program based in Salt Lake City. She served as the show’s live features and entertainment reporter. In this capacity, Shauna Thomas wrote, produced, booked and reported daily, covering entertainment content for morning live shots. In the field, she acted as sole producer/reporter for a three-hour live show while managing crew and guests. Some of her coverage during this time include 
American Idol Finals, the Sundance Film Festival and the Fox Network TV Press Tour. She also wrote and anchored daily entertainment segments for Live at 11 and Fox News at 9.

In early 2003, Shauna Thomas served as entertainment correspondent for the show Extra, a production of Tele-Pictures, she served as fill-in host and writer for The Daily Buzz, an ACME Television nationally syndicated morning news program; and as a reporter/writer/producer for ESPN’s coverage of the Chicago Auto Show

In 2002, Shauna Thomas’ experience included work for
•    FOX 59 A.M., Indianapolis, where she wrote, produced and anchored The Now Generation, a pop culture segment on the morning news;
•    As part of Tribune’s duopoly with FOX 59 & WB4 Shauna served as reporter/writer/producer doing live shots & packages and also hosted Quik Hitz, a nightly, entertainment, news program.

In 2000, Shauna Thomas worked for DISNEY.com as an online writer/producer/reporter. Her work for Disney’s branch company, imoviestudios.com, included Red Carpet coverage and behind-the-scenes content on film sets in Vancouver, Thailand & Ireland.

Shauna Thomas has also worked for KingWorld Productions’ Inside Edition as an associate producer.

Before joining television production Shauna Thomas held the title of Creative Development Executive for the film company Motion Picture Corporation of America.  During her 2 years with the company she developed & packaged scripts with talented writers and directors.

Shauna Thomas has earned awards for “Best Feature Reporter” in Utah. She won the Reader’s Pick Award from City Weekly Magazine, 2004. In 2006, the Salt Lake Magazine featured Shauna Thomas on the cover for the issue themed “Successful Singles in Salt Lake.”
